I finally got my mojo back and am able to post pics! I left my charger in Miami so was waiting on a replacement I bought on Ebay. Over on LHCF's Nail Fanatics thread the the theme this week is green. After doing my research I decided to get Hard Candy's Envy and Mac's Dry Martini polish. Well it so happens that my Walmart doesn't carry the Hard Candy line yet. Fine. I proceed to go to Mac to get Dry Martini and they're sold out. Grrr. I even ask the lady if I could purchase the demo they had out and she rejected my offer. I was heated on the way home and decided to make my own green with the pigments I had on hand. And so this creation was birthed. Its Mac Vintage Gold pigment which is a metalic green with gold undertones. I mixed it with OPI rapid dry topcoat. It ended up being too thick so I added some Sally Hansen Hard as Nails topcoat. Perfection!
The pictures really don't do this any justice as the color is simply gorgeous in person. It's so gorgeous I decided to leave it as is, and not do any nail art over it. And to think, I thought I wasn't a green polish person. My nails are growing in nicely too. They naturally grow long but became weak and started splitting once I ripped those false nails off of them.
I've never used pigments to make polishes before and now that I've discovered it there's no turning back. Next on my list to create polishes with is Mutiny and Viz a Violet.
