If you know me at all you know Im a DIY girl to the max. Minx manicures are $50 and up and looked simple enough to do, so I did some research to see if I could get the supplies to do them myself. I purchased my set from an Ebay seller and surprisingly you can get a good variety of colors and patterns on Ebay such as cheetah print, gold or silver metallic and houndstooth. Solange, Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga and Rihanna are all sporting Minx manicures right now making them the hottest nail trend.
They come on a sheet like this. You get 16 nails in 8 different sizes. The curved end fits right into your cuticle and you cut the other end to the shape of your nail. Once on you heat with a blow dryer or heat lamp to seal it on. There's no chemicals, no nasty smell and no drying time. Those are all pluses in my book so sign me up.
My end result. My only qualm is I couldnt get those damn creases out but the website says that comes with practice. My second hand came out a little better than the first. They're supposed to last 1-2 weeks but creases are supposed to decrease the wear time. Ill be happy if I get 5 days out of them.
The good thing is you can't really see the creases from a distance.
The blingage on these babies are outrageous!
I'm definitely going to purchase some more and try again. On a scale of 1-10 the simplicity of applying was about a 4. I was surprised at how well they fit my nail as I was expecting to do a lot of shaping.

Oo I had no idea you could buy them and DIY, thanks for the info! You did a great job and they look fantastic! I've been dying to try them but there isn't anyplace local, and since I do my own acrylics I think I could swing this. Off to check out eBay, I feel a Minx party coming on...
Cheers!

Cool!! I so want to try something like this, but it looks pretty hard to apply? Where did you find them on ebay?
